Spence served as a General Representative in 1988-89 on the UCLA Undergraduate Student Association Council, and now serves as President of the California Republican Assembly, an organization praised by Ronald Reagan as “The conscience of the Republican party.”  Spence has also been a leader in the California “Save Our License” campaign to prevent illegal immigrants from holding state drivers licenses.
